A Day and Night in Negril

With its clear blue waters and palm-tree-lined beach, Negril is without doubt a tourist’s paradise. During the day you can amble idly along Negril beach or take a boat trip with Stanley’s Deep Sea Fishing expeditions. As evening falls, a great selection of steak & seafood are served at Rick’s Café. This renowned Jamaican attraction even has a pool to dive into between courses and a guaranteed Jamaican party on tap.

Dunn’s River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls are among the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Tiers of limestone cascade through the verdant rainforest creating a set of steps and pools that are quite easy to climb and cooling at the same time. This natural wonder can get busy, so expect to see quite a few visitors – so join hands together and literally soak it up as you negotiate your way up and down this natural “snakes & ladders” water game.

Swim with Dolphins & Sharks

The aptly named Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios offers the opportunity to take a swim with the ocean’s most captivating sea creatures. The Cove is the largest natural dolphin lagoon in the world, and it’s possible to get close to Caribbean sharks and snorkel with the stingrays. If you don’t fancy getting too close, then hire a mini-boat and explore the coastline. Alternatively, there are plenty of glass-bottom kayaks giving amazing views of life below.

Take a Trip to Firefly

High in the mountains, approximately 20 miles east of Ocho Rios, sits Firefly, once the home of Sir Noel Coward the English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer, known for his wit and flamboyance. Sir Noel died in Jamaica in 1973, and today the Jamaican Heritage Trust manage Firefly, offering lovely tours around the house and grounds. Bringing back to life Jamaica’s glamorous past, there is actual video footage of Coward and photos of him with Errol Flynn, Sean Connery, Joan Sutherland and HRH the Queen Mum.
