Jamaica, to the indigenous Taino people, this colourful Caribbean island was called Xaymaca – the land of springs. Today, Jamaica is becoming as fashionable as it was in the fifties with good reason: Its people are amongst the Caribbean’s most friendly, its culture is lively and interesting, and it’s up there with some of nature’s most beautiful places in the world. More a country than an island, over the years, Jamaica has played host to Christopher Columbus, Bond creator Ian Fleming and Pirate King Henry Morgan.
