The Imperial New Delhi
Reminiscent of a 19th-century Indian Palace, in the land of Maharajas and Maharanis, The Imperial New Delhi was opened in 1936 as the first hotel in New Delhi. One of the Grand Dames of the East, its architecture has subtle traces of Victorian, Art Deco and Lutyens styles. White marble colonnades, verdant gardens and rooms & suites replete with Italian marble floors, polished Burma teak, Persian hand-knotted carpets, antique Chandeliers and Rosewood furniture, set the tone. The storied hotel blends rich heritage, exceptional service and modern-day comforts for today’s business and leisure travellers.
Modern and spacious, rooms have high ceilings, a flat-screen cable TV, minibar and tea/coffee-making facilities. Bathrobes, toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. This hotel offers concierge assistance for tour and theatre information, as well as mobile phone rentals. Yoga classes and a book shop are available. English afternoon tea is offered at The Atrium while Italian specialities can be enjoyed at San Gimignano. Daniell’s Tavern and 1911 Restaurant and Bar are available for live entertainment and drinks.
