Diamond Oval Kimberley

4 Diamond Oval, Kimberley., Lardner Burke Avenue, Cassandra, Kimberley, South Africa

The Diamond Oval is a beautiful stadium in Kimberley, South Africa. It plays the host to local domestic teams Griqualand West and the VKB Knights.

A nice, open ground with plenty of the grass banks that are so popular with South African spectators, the Diamond Oval hosted its first one-day international in April 1998 when Pakistan chased down a Sri Lankan total of 295 to record a four-wicket victory.

That has been the pattern in most one-day matches, highly scoring. However, England’s Mark Ealham once managed figures of 5 for 15 in 10 overs against Zimbabwe in January 2000!

The ground hosted three matches during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. The venue was formerly known as the De Beers Diamond Oval, the De Beers Country Club and the Kimberley Country Club.
