In July 2026, the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Tournament will be held in Barbados.
Many an international star has come through this competition before going on to the highest level of the game, including the likes of Sir Alastair Cook, Brian Lara, Dale Benkenstein, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
This is a fantastic opportunity for young cricketers between under-16 and under-19 level to experience Caribbean conditions and test themselves against high-quality opposition.
The 2025 tournament was well attended by overseas teams, including one from Australia who narrowly lost in the final to a team from USA. The joy of youth cricket continues to be strong on these tours with lifelong friendships developing as a result.
Girls’ cricket is still developing in Barbados but touring girls can now play other local teams in a friendly series alongside this tournament, or at other times of the year.
