Sri Lanka’s national cricket team achieved considerable success beginning in the 1990s, rising from underdog status to winning the Cricket World Cup in 1996. Since then, the team has continued to be a force in international cricket but can they beat the current 1 day and test match sides that England is currently fielding? With the likes of Jos Buttler, Joe Root, Mark Wood, Chris Woakes and Johnny Bairstow to name a few they are hotly tipped to won the 2019 World Cup it seems this team cannot currently be beaten.

Sara, Garry, Richard,Dom Thank you Sorry we missed the drinks A big thank you for the highlight of 2018! One of our best holidays ever in Sri Lanka – great cricket, fantastic organisation and Garry and Richard were wonderful company. 2nd timer and this time on my own. What was I worried about? WE had a ball a great group of people on the ODI trip. Thanks ICT for organising so professionally and looking after us. Excellent team in country. See you in the Caribbean 2019 for another Jolly Up.
You could not wish for a better organised tour than those from ICT. The small group size makes for fantastic interaction between group members. The team in Sr Lanka were just fantastic. It’s a brilliant mix of cricket, tourism, fun and banter from start to finish. As with most things, the more you commit yourself to have fun, the more fun you will have. A lot of the group were ‘serial tourists’ and have used ICT before but if it’s your first time or your umpteenth time. you join as strangers but leave as friends. And as for Gary…!!!!
Our trip to Sri Lanka was fabulous. The hotels were great with the highlight being the Tea Trails. We wanted to pass on how wonderful our driver/guide Niruth Fernando was throughout our trip. He was knowledgeable, punctual and able to to explain the culture and current affairs. He became a friend and we even went to his house to meet his family and drink tea. He is a credit to Butterlflys and we would recommend him without question. We absolutely loved Sri Lanka and the cricket was brilliant.
Six am and back home on a dark, frosty Worcestershire morning. Was it all a dream? Thanks everyone for your company over the past couple of weeks. Gary, Richard and Sara – I really appreciate all your thoughtful planning, organisation and leadership. Another brilliant tour, always great fun. ICT seems to reach the parts that others miss! The cricket and the results were pretty memorable too. Enjoy Colombo and safe travels all.
The sun sets on our final night in Sri Lanka. Gary & Richard, thanks for all the banter, amusement and efficiently herding us around!! We’ve had a great time, met some lovely people and a series win in the bag! Enjoy the final test whilst we’ll be shivering in England. Hopefully South Africa next.
Big Thanks to Sara, Gary and Richard plus everyone at Butterflies. Had a great time and great to catch up with all the ‘regulars’ again and great to meet some new folks along the way too. See you all in WI, NZ, SA or beyond
Hi All just to say it’s been great meeting you all we’ve had a great time to those who are staying on hope it continues as good but with better weather for the cricket, until the next time Au revoir.
Now we’ve landed safely back in England we wanted to say a big thank you to the ICT team for organising such a fantastic trip for us. In particular thanks to Gary for his marvellous hospitality at the Calamander. It was great to meet many of you and thanks to Mike, John, Richard and Ian for their company with whom we spent several evenings. Overall a great time in a lovely country – many thanks to everyone for their part in such a successful trip.
Gary, I think I can finally express my appreciation for all you have done for me over the last week. You have been a fabulous host and great company. My thanks to you, Richard, Sara and everyone for making this my inaugural cricket tour such a hoot. Your hosting skills are superb and its really not your fault that you are not female and sport hot pants! Really great fun all round and I fear you might see me on future tours!
Bye bye Galle! It’s been a blast! A win and four straight days of cricket with no stops for rain! Enjoy the rest of the tour all of you and thanks for your company 👍🏻🏏
