The story of 3 cricket loving guys on a South Island Adventure tour in NZ - Part 3 by Jeff Arkley
Once upon a time there were three travelling companions who journeyed to NZ South Island for a week of jollity, pranks and excitement. Senior we may be in years, but definitely juvenile in nature – one professional ex Banker enjoying retirement, one professional Tour Manager (TM) enjoying one holiday after another (and he calls this work!?) and one Clown masquerading as …………a clown!.
Each of us different to the others and as my two fellow bloggers have described the trip it falls on me to outline the individual characteristics of the three intrepid travellers.
Things come in threes and we have been called many things, such as:- The three Amigos The three Musketeers The three Just Men The three Men in a Boat The three Wise Men (ok maybe not!) The three Tenors (ok not with the TM’s singing!) The three Luges Bed, Bath and Beyond Superman, Batman and Dobbin.
But especially ‘The last three of the Summer W(h)iners – One from ‘oop north’ – namely God’s own county (Yorkshire) and known as Foggy. Tall, reserved and sensible. One from Chiswick and known as Compo. Steps mad, Elton John mad, supports Chelsea and Surrey (well someone has to!) Also known as Gazza a real Geezer! One from Essex and known by day as Coco and by night as Norah Batty (don’t ask!) who supports Essex, Middlesex and Surrey and has an eclectic style of music and dress sense so you can understand his problem. Mind you he flashes a mean camera.
Fun was had by all and we can’t wait for the next trip to Outer Mongolia. The trip did provide three questions that need to be answered – a) Does Gazza win the Hokey Pokey Ice Cream challenge? b) Did Coco elope with Bubbles Devere? c) Did the Village People reunite for one night only?
To find out the answers to these and many other profound questions join the next ICT Tour and you may find out!
