Edgbaston reunion with old friends, curry & plenty of laughs!

Edgbaston reunion with old friends, curry & plenty of laughs!

I’ve been with ICT for 11 years, and during that time I’ve been fortunate enough to keep in touch with so many people who have travelled with us.

Whether it’s been dinner, horse racing, beer festivals or at cricket grounds around the country — especially The Oval — it’s always lovely to catch up.

I think that’s one of the things that makes ICT different. It really does feel like a family company. So many people have met on our tours and gone on to become friends. I’ve made so many great friends through ICT, and between tours we keep in touch — sometimes over dinner, sometimes with a phone call, WhatsApp or Facebook message.

I also keep involved throughout the summer, helping with sales and advice before passing people over to the office, particularly as we offer so many bespoke tours.

With all that in mind, we’d been talking about having an ICT reunion for the last 18 months. Finally, we came up with a date and made 50 tickets available.

We were inundated!

They sold out pretty quickly, and I knew 48 of the 50 people attending. I’ve got a pretty good memory for names — and, more importantly, I can usually remember which tours they’ve been on!

The day was hosted by myself and Ed, and it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces.

We also had a couple of newbies who fitted straight in with the group. At the end of the day, they thanked me for a lovely time and said everyone they’d spoken to had been very complimentary about what we do, which was lovely to hear.

At lunch, the beers were on us . A few had already bought tickets before we announced the reunion, and several more joined us during the day.

As I mentioned, so many had travelled together before, so there was plenty of reminiscing, plenty of stories, and plenty of laughter.

After close of play, the group split into two. Some headed off to the pub, while 18 of us went for a curry.

Afterwards, some caught the train home, while a few of us headed to a great ale house to carry on the evening!

It really was a wonderful — and extremely successful — day.

And the best bit? So many have already booked winter tours, so there’ll be plenty more opportunities to catch up around the world.

Hopefully, we can arrange something again next year.

Watch this space…

All the best,

Gary
