CPL 2026: The Caribbean Premier League returns bigger than ever

The Caribbean Premier League is back for 2026, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest yet.

Running from 7 August to 20 September, the tournament brings six weeks of high-tempo T20 cricket across the Caribbean, with its usual mix of packed grounds, evening heat, music, and that relaxed island atmosphere that makes the CPL stand out.

The Kingsmen get the first three draft picks (limited to Jamaican players), with the rest of the order based on last season’s standings. Draft selections will be confirmed on 15 May 2026, with the league continuing to attract plenty of world-class talent. England players such as Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan have featured in the competition in previous seasons, underlining the tournament’s strong pull for established international stars.

Finals week in Barbados

A total of 39 matches* lead into a focused finals week in Barbados, with all knockout games staged at the Kensington Oval:

• Eliminator – 16 September
• Qualifier 1 – 17 September
• Qualifier 2 – 18 September
• Final – 20 September

It’s a notable move for the tournament, putting Barbados at the centre of its biggest moments – fitting given its strong cricketing history and atmosphere for big occasions.
